Sedem Takes her Owners Across the Atlantic for the First Time

January, 2026

Encouraged by the reliability and sailing ease of their Pegasus 50, Astrid and Roeland succeed in the ARC.

In a pleasant New Year’s surprise, the owners of Pegasus 50 Sedem sent us a message describing their first experience of the ARC. Many sailors choose the ARC as their first ocean-crossing challenge, and Astrid and Roeland did the same.

Both are seasoned offshore sailors who honed their doublehanded skills on races such as the UK Doublehanded Offshore Series (UKDHOS), where they won the Masters category. Among their other accolades is a victory in the Doublehanded Division of the Royal Cornwall Celtic Triangle Race, as well as successes in the Rolex Fastnet Race and Doublehanded European Championships.

They then chose our Pegasus 50 for their next challenge, the ARC. Confident in the seaworthiness of the yacht and supported by the experience they had gained sailing her, they departed Las Palmas in November 2025 and successfully arrived in Rodney Bay in 18 days. Next on their list of adventures? To race the Caribbean 600 and BVI Spring Regatta. With their permission, we’re proud to share their message to our founders with you:

Dear Marko & Miha,

First, we want to wish you a lot of joy and happiness for the new year and big success with Pegasus Yachts!

And then we want to compliment you with - for us - the best boat ever 😊

We are enjoying her to the max and all the compliments of people (sailors and non-sailors) are overwhelming. In Las Palmas we were the ‘talk’ of the town (pontoon), and people came specially to see her. Quite some people know the brand already, so are happy to see one for real. We showed her to quite some couples now, from different countries.

So, how did we experience the Atlantic Crossing? It’s the perfect boat for sure… The boat loves reaching the best… It starts purring like a cat.

We really took it easy as it was our first real offshore experience with this boat,
and were the only Double Handed in our class. If we would do it again, we would sail in a more sportive way.

We are enjoying the Grenadines now (you really must go here once if you didn’t already). Coming weeks, we have some friends visiting us and by half February we’ll be in Antigua for the Caribbean 600.

After it we plan to sail a bit more Northwest, if possible, till the BVI’s.

For now, we want to send you very sunny greetings from the Grenadines.
