ABOUT PEGASUS YACHTS

THE SHIPYARD AND THE CREW

Pegasus Yachts team has years of engineering, production, business industrial design, naval architecture, product & project management, and sailing and has completed more than 160 projects for prominent world-series builders. Ten of those projects have won European Yacht of the Year Awards and more than 50 other national Boat of the Year Awards.

More than 10,000 yachts have been produced due to these projects, including Shipman Carbon Yachts, the world’s first series of carbon construction performance cruisers. We gained priceless experience directly from Shipman owners from circumnavigations and cruising in the most remote worldwide places.

We work closely with leading naval architects and hydrodynamic specialists from current America’s Cup and ocean racing, exterior and interior designers and stylists, structural specialists and the best industry suppliers.

The Pegasus 50 concept, design and engineering represent the result of experience gained in previous projects.

Marko Paš

I spent the last 25 years designing and building boats and cruising and racing in the Mediterranean, North Sea and Baltic. Campaigning in qualification for Athens Olympic Games in 2004 as a crew in Tornado catamaran.

Engineering background, working in the marine industry as an industrial designer, naval architect and project manager, in total over 160 projects, sailing and power boats for all prominent world serial builders.

Responsible for Shipman carbon-yachts developments, five models, 44 built, first serial carbon construction performance cruiser. Shipman boats together circumnavigated 36 times in the last ten years. Gaining priceless experience directly from owners cruising in most remote world places.

Constantly interested in how to improve sailing and live aboard experience and make boat ownership less stress and more fun.

Working in close collaboration with top-end naval architects and hydrodynamic specialists from America’s cup and ocean racing, exterior and interior designers and stylists, structural specialists as well as majority important industry suppliers. “Efficiently developed and built with builder and client focus is my field of interest and concentration. Constant innovation in materials and design solutions is inevitable part of success.” Involved in creating working boats, like patrol and pilot vessels, experienced all aspects of marine harshest environment that brings awareness of safety and absolute need for reliability back to conceptual and design phase. Pegasus 50 concept, design and engineering work is a merger of experiences gained in previous projects, optimized for shorthanded, blue water sailing with accent on safety, simplicity of use, comfort on board and optimized cost of ownership.

Miha Breskvar

After graduating from mechanical engineering and completing my bachelor's in computer and information science, I finished my education at IEDC Business School, where I got my MBA.

My career started in the online stock exchange trading development team. Later on, I was responsible for the technical and business development of one of the best legal information systems. And then I co-founded and managed FrodX d.o.o. – where we worked for the biggest worldwide companies, such as Canon, SAP, Microsoft, Velux, Generali, Fraport, and many regional banks and insurance companies.

During my student years, I built a racing boat and won dozens of regattas with my crew. While doing a few tens of thousand nautical miles on various sailboats, seas, and oceans, I've gained a lot of valuable nautical and life lessons and experience. I've used my sailing knowledge, skills, and experience to teach more than 500 people to sail and recently combined with my business background to develop and build a modern blue water cruiser, Pegasus 50.

After graduating from mechanical engineering and completing my bachelor's degree at the Faculty of Computer and Information Science, I continued my formal education at IEDC Business School, where I got my MBA degree.

My career started in a development team of the system for online stock exchange trading at brokerage company CBPD. Later on, I worked for Lexpera, where I was responsible for the technical and business development of one of the best legal information systems, IUS-INFO.

In 2013 I started my own business as a co-founder, partner, and CEO of FrodX d.o.o. – a company that consults and technically supports the biggest companies worldwide to help them grow their revenues online, such as Canon, SAP, Microsoft, Velux, Addiko Bank, Generali, Fraport, etc.

Sailing is an important part of my life. During my student years, I built a racing boat with which my team and I won dozens of regattas. While doing more than several thousand nautical miles on various sailboats, I've gained a lot of valuable nautical and life lessons and experience. I've used my sailing knowledge, skills, and experience to teach more than 500 people how to sail. From 2018 I'm using them as a partner of Pegasus Yachts to build a modern blue water cruiser, Pegasus 50.

Dr. Ernst Thomke

I have been sailing for 50 years, during which time I have owned 4 yachts. The first of these, I built myself and the others I commissioned, and they were built to my specific requirements. These proved to be successful and close to what I needed, but Pegasus is the first to fulfil all my needs and expectations.

Pegasus enables me to cross oceans single-handed or with a crew of friends and always feel safe, comfortable and exhilarated.

Pegasus 50 most significant difference is the concept – a bluewater sailing yacht with a well-protected covered cockpit, 360-degree vision in the saloon and gimballed saloon sofa, and double insulation for the engine, which is sited away from the living and sleeping areas of the yacht. She also provides safe movement for her crew with only a few steps and good access to well-proven equipment that is easily maintained.
