On long hauled legs, ocean racing boats prove that sitting on leveled surfaces minimizes fatigue and with horizon visibility and natural ventilation significantly improves comfort and reduces seasickness.
For this reason, we have developed a lightweight, carbon gimballed salon settee, which rotates along the longitudinal axis and compensates boat heel. By installing this on a similar concept boat, we recognized extremely positive responses from the crew, not being involved in sailing. They could read, rest, and prepare food while remaining leveled and still with visual contact with the cockpit and exterior.
